Welcome to the RadioActive Open Source RFID Consortium!
The RadioActive project is made up of a consortium of different organizations with the goal of promoting RFID technology through open source software.
Why A Consortium?
The RadioActive Project is a non for profit organization. To support development, marketing and other costs associated with creating any production level pieces of software we need support in the form of monetary donations along with other support such as web hosting, hardware donations, development resources etc. The best way for the RadioActive project to obtain such resources was for us to create a consortium of organizations that support the project.
What type of organization is a part of the Consortium?
Usually an organization is a part of the consortium because they are users of the RadioActive source code. Other entities that may join the consortium would include academic institutions that are interested in using RadioActive for academic purposes.
What are the Benefits to being a Part of the consortium?
This all depends on an organizations reasons for joining the RadioActive Consortium. If an organization is a large user of RadioActive software they may have a desire to participate in designing stages, and have a say in how the technology is advanced forward.
